Meet The Next Generation of PRP Therapy

When we injure specific parts of our bodies, or they fail to work due to disease or age, we turn to our doctors to correct the issue. For many, relying on medication or invasive surgery to fix the problem seems to be the only option. But is it? This is where regenerative medicine comes in.

Why PRFM is the Next Generation of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Commonly known as PRP, Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix has been around since the early 2000’s. This regenerative therapy is thought to promote your body’s natural healing abilities by utilizing your own blood platelets to release growth factors. This surgery alternative has been shown to stimulate the repair of damaged cartilage, cells and tissue, potentially restoring pre-injury function.

Through a controlled separation process, almost all contaminants are removed to create a pure platelet solution. PRFM takes this pure solution to the next level through a proprietary step by forming a gel-like substance, or scaffolding, that protects and preserves platelets for injection.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?

  • PRP is a solution of plasma and platelets where the platelet concentration is higher than whole blood.
  • Optimal platelet concentration is 2-3 times greater than whole blood.
  • Definition of PRP does NOT include red blood cells (RBC) or white blood cells (WBC).
  • RBC and WBC should be removed as much as possible from PRP preparation.
  • PRP kits that tout high platelet concentrations often have contaminating RBCs or WBCs which have inflammatory and catabolic effects causing opposite effect of desired outcome.
  • Pink or red PRP has RBC contamination.
  • The ideal PRP solution will be a golden, straw-like color.

How Does LIBERTY MTX ™ Work?

Growth factors are protein molecules found naturally in your body and released by the platelets in your blood. With hundreds of different types in existence, each help in varying ways including regulating cell growth, preventing cell death, and increasing circulation to name a few. Among the benefits of growth factors are their ability to act as chemical messengers, communicating with cells to stimulate growth and repair.
